I am both owner and principle practitioner at Gippsland Acupuncture. After completing a Bachelor of Science – Honours degree in Human Biology at the University of Waterloo, Canada, I travelled extensively throughout Asia pursuing my interest in health sciences. While accumulating skills in massage, I also fostered a growing interest in meditation and traditional healing systems. It was a Master of Chinese Medicine(CM) in Korea that not only helped me with a trying medical condition of my own, but also opened my eyes to this incredible system of natural medicine. I found inspiration in being able to bring my keen interest in health sciences and the principle of holism together, and so, I began my study of Chinese healing arts, resulting in a Doctor of CM Diploma from the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in Canada. During my studies, I had an opportunity to spend time at the Nanjing Chinese Medicine hospital in China, adding depth to my medical knowledge through immersion in the cultural framework from which CM has developed.
What impressed me most was how comprehensive a medical system CM is. It’s a holistic model that values balance and harmony between the various body systems. Acupuncture and herbal medicine are powerful tools for the restoration and maintenance of metabolic balance, thereby treating a wide variety of illnesses.
I am an AHPRA registered practitioner of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine and a member of the AACMA (Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association).
